PCA SKIN® Professional Peels
Professional peels are blends of acids that help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots (hyperpigmentation), rosacea, acne, and some sensitive skin conditions.
Microneedling
A minimally-invasive procedure that creates a controlled wound-response by creating microscopic channels (openings) to the surface of the skin using small needles.
Microdermabrasion
A non-invasive mechanical exfoliation treatment that utilizes crystals or a rough surface plus suction to gently abrade the surface of the skin. It results in very little downtime.
Dermaplaning
A non-invasive treatment that utilizes a straight-edge surgical blade or scalpel at a 45-degree angle to exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz).
Injectables: Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to visibly plump areas of the face such as cheeks, temples, lips, and under the eyes.
Retinoids
A category of ingredients derived from vitamin A, which vary in strength depending on the percentage, form, delivery system, and formulation as a whole. Retinoids are commonly used at home as well as a professional treatment to treat fine lines, wrinkles, uneven surface texture, acne, and hyperpigmentation.
Body Treatments
Professional peels and therapeutic masks may also be performed to target common skin concerns seen on the neck, chest, arms, legs, back, and feet.
Light Emitting Diode (LED)
LED uses varying wavelengths of light, including red, blue, and green to provide different benefits to the skin without creating discomfort or downtime. Some devices are hand-held, which are typically available for at-home use, and some are larger panels of lights typically done in an aesthetic or medical practice.
Injectables: Neurotoxins
Neurotoxins are injected into specific areas of the face to minimize repeated muscle movement from facial expressions, temporarily softening and reducing the appearance of wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, and forehead.
Intense Pulsed Light
This non-ablative treatment uses high intensity, scattered pulses of visible light to improve the appearance fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, visible capillaries, and redness.
Medical Facials
Medical facials may include treatments such as masks, oxygenating treatments, and other types of exfoliation, that use higher percentages of enzymes and other active ingredients. They can be customized to promote desired changes in the skin and do not result in the downtime or visible exfoliation of a peel.
Radio Frequency
This aesthetic treatment delivers radio frequency, or RF energy, to heat the deeper layers of the skin. This triggers the collagen and elastin fibers to contract, making the skin look tighter and firmer. It is often necessary to have 2 to 3 treatments to reach desired goals.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound devices use sound waves to heat the deeper layers of the skin better than radio frequency. The sound wave frequency is selected based on the depth of the tissue to be treated, repairing collagen and elastin fibers to leave the skin stronger, fuller, and firmer. It is typically performed only once.
Microcurrent
This technology sends low-voltage electrical signals into the skin to stimulate the facial muscles, creating a lifting and toning effect on the skin. It has been called the "non-surgical facelift" but may require multiple treatments to achieve desired results.
Laser
A device that emits varying wavelengths of light, known as a laser beam, that targets different skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, laxity, and redness. There are many different types of lasers: some create long periods of downtime and healing, while others can create change with little to no heat or downtime.
