6 Products to Prevent and Reduce Discoloration

Round out your daily regimen with these must-have discoloration products

Discoloration, also called hyperpigmentation, is a challenging and often lifelong condition to combat. Skin trauma such as acne, eczema, allergic reactions or even heat can cause increased pigment production leaving you with dark spots and uneven skin tone. Different types of skin trauma can cause hyperpigmentation in different depths of the skin. The deeper the pigment in the skin, the more challenging it is to treat and improve.

Being proactive about protection and using products with the right ingredients is essential in preventing discoloration from appearing or getting worse. Look for products with key brightening ingredients such as niacinamide, vitamin C and hydroquinone. As you treat skin discoloration it may get worse before it gets better. Think of it like a penny at the bottom of a swimming pool. As you bring the penny closer to the surface, the size of the penny increases. The most effective treatment plans lift pigment and inhibit the production of melanin, which causes new spots to form.

We’ve compiled six discoloration products to add to your daily regimen to enhance and maximize results:

Pigment Bar: Minimize discolorations on the face and body with Pigment Bar. This cleanser is formulated with a blend of advanced ingredients, including niacinamide that calm skin and promote and even skin tone.

Pigment Gel: Lighten existing and prevent future hyperpigmentation with Pigment Gel. This spot treatment serum is formulated with hydroquinone (2%) and is effective for all types of hyperpigmentation including hormonal, sun induced or breakouts.

Vitamin b3 Brightening Serum: PCA SKIN’s newest innovation in brightening, Vitamin b3 Brightening Serum brightens dark spots, minimizes yellowing and dullness and reduces redness with a therapeutic level of niacinamide (6%).

C&E Advanced with Hexylresorcinol and Silymarin: Protect skin from the effects of UV exposure with Vitamin C. This advanced antioxidant formula, diminishes dark spots, soothes irritated skin and reduces signs of aging.

Intensive Brightening Treatment: 0.5% pure retinol night: Target dark spots, dullness and redness with Intensive Brightening Treatment. Nightly retinol use with added brightening ingredients helps to increase cell turnover and bring discolorations to the surface.

Sheer Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 45: PUV exposure is a main cause of skin discoloration. Protect yourself daily by applying a broad spectrum SPF every morning and reapplying every two hours.
