PCA Advanced Skin Care Systems has an internal reputation as a family
friendly company, so it only makes sense to support programs aimed at providing
women outside the company with physical, emotional and financial well-being.
Since 1990, the company has donated close to $500,000 in funds and in-kind
support to local charities, specifically those empowering women.
On a national level PCA founder, Margaret Ancira, is a
founding sponsor of
Face-to-Face: Domestic Violence Project started in 1994 by the American
Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This pro bono service
reconstructs the faces of women scarred or disfigured by domestic violence.
Margaret has pledged $150,000 to this cause, hosted fundraisers on its behalf,
and actively enlisted physicians’ services.
On a local level Margaret serves on the Board of
Directors for
Sojourner Center, Arizona’s largest domestic violence shelter. For five
years, Margaret has opened her hand and her heart to this organization. The
company has established an annual educational grant for shelter residents
pursuing a career in healthcare. To date, Margaret has awarded four scholarships
totaling $10,000. PCA has also raised money for the purchase of a new protective
shade over the center’s playground.
Supporting Arizona’s Economy PCA’s commitment to the
community isn’t limited to charitable groupsMargaret is an advocate of
supporting the state’s economy through groups like
Arizona Chain Reaction, which
promotes small businesses that are the backbone of our state’s economy.
According to ACR, for every dollar spent at a locally owned, independent store,
an average of 45 cents is reinvested in our communities. Margaret feels so
strongly about this issue that she accepted an appointment to serve on the
Governor’s Council on Small Business in hopes of developing and implementing
strategies to strengthen the foundation of small business in the state.
